MISSION STATMENT

As followers of Christ, who calls us by his word to love one another, we the parishioner's of St. Paul's, seek to form a truly worshiping, welcoming and serving community of faith.

...a worshipping parish
The celebration of the Eucharist is the summit of our life and faith, uniting us tot he Salvation of Jesus Christ. We hope that you will join us at one of our Sunday Masses or our Daily Mass (times on home page). We pray the Morning Prayer of the Church (the Devine Office) at 9.40am, Monday to Saturday.

We regularly pray the rosary before our beautiful Lady Altar and a charismatic renewal prayer group meets in our church hall on a Wednesday evening.

A children's liturgy group enhances the 11am Sunday Mass for younger people.

Our housebound and sick parishioners participate in a special ministry of prayer - for the parish and for the world.

Our choir and musicians enhance the liturgy and new members are always welcome. Parishioners also serve the liturgy life of the parish as readers and extraordinary ministers of communion. Younger parishioners assist the Mass as altar servers.

...a welcoming parish
On coming to Sunday Mass, you will be welcomed by members of our Welcoming Ministry who will be happy to help you, together with the Passkeepers.

We welcome people who wish to explore what it means to become a Catholic and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) programme is run for newcomers to our faith.

The Hall Committee is responsible for the Parochial events which take place in the Parish Hall on a weekly and occasional basis and for other social and other fund-raising events. They also look after cleaning and maintenance of the excellent hall, which is available to let for functions.

A small group of volunteers cleans the church on a Monday morning so that is is comfortable and pleasant for worship.

Regular social events include tea and coffee after 11am Sunday Mass and the Men's Club which meets Thursday evening in the Hall, 7.30pm when Pool, Carpet Bowls and Darts are played and pies and pints are available for purchase. Entrance fee is 50p.

Bingo is played in the Hall every Sunday evening from 7.30pm. The fee is 50p and tea and biscuits are available for purchase.

...a serving parish
Our Society of St Vincent de Paul conference provides practical help to the poor, locally, nationally and worldwide.

We often hold collections and fundraising events for organisations such as the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, the St Nicholas trust, Aid to the Church in Need and pro-life causes, Through these organisations we exercise our Christian duty to assist those in need in Scotland and around the world.

We also have an active Union of Catholic Mothers.

Our parish activates are co-ordinated through the Parish Pastoral Council - a team nominated by the parishioners and appointed by the Parish Priest to give him advice and support.

The fabric and Finance committee assists the Parish Priest in the task of maintaining the parish buildings and the financial.

...a parish that needs you.
All of our parish activities rely on the people like you.

We always need new members for the various groups; more musicians, readers and ministers; volunteers to serve the poor and vulnerable. Everyone has a part to play.

Please get in touch with one of the parish contacts if you can help in anyway. Parish contacts for various activates and groups can be found on our notice boards at the back of the church.
